What is CBD oil? – CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is one of the most prevalent chemical compounds in the cannabis plant. Unlike the more famous molecule, THC, CBD is completely nonpsychoactive. The cannabis plant is made up of the hemp plant and the marijuana plant. CBD is extracted from the hemp plant and is now legal in 50 states. It contains a very small amount of THC (it actually works synergistically with CBD, other cannabinoids & terpenes to produce an “entourage effect”) meaning it works better when all molecules are present. *Although this amount of THC is very small it is suggested that you do not use CBD products if you get drug tested, as there is a possibility it will come back positive for THC.
What are the benefits of CBD oil? – Preclinical trials over the past 4 decades have found that the cannabinoid molecule shows promise as an:
· Anxiolytic (to reduce anxiety)
· Anti–tumoral agent
Benefits of CBD:
· Promotes healthy sleep
· Relieves aches & pains
· Relieves occasional nausea
· Promotes relaxation
· Relieves stress
· Improves mood
· Maintains healthy joints
· Supports immune health
…and more!!! Want to explore this amazing plant and its potential benefits more? We recommend projectcbd.org as a great resource.
Why is CBD oil good for EVERYONE? – We were all born with an endocannabinoid system. Just like your endocrine system we have receptors mostly in our brain, but spread throughout the body, for these plant molecules. This regulatory systems main function is to promote homeostasis in the body. Homeostasis is simply the balance of bodily functions, especially as maintained by physiological processes. This is why we all should be taking in cannabinoids, to maintain or to find balance. Because of this function the benefits are potentially endless.
What other plants contain cannabinoids? –
· Electric Daisy
· Chocolate (this explains a lot ;) and if you crave chocolate you MAY just have a cannabinoid deficiency)
· Black Pepper
How much CBD oil should I take? – This is the tricky part of CBD oil as we are all unique and have different needs. More is NOT better in regards to dosing, and it can actually overload your system and bring on adverse effects. We suggest to start low and increase slowly, until you reach your desired effect. Everyone is different and it will take trial and error to find your sweet spot. You may also feel some detoxing when beginning. That should pass after a few days. YOU MAY FEEL WORSE BEFORE BETTER. It takes about 30 days for it to build up in your system. Some people it will take this long to feel an effect, some people feel it immediately.
